Paranoia and Security

April 29th, 2008 No Comments

I’m sure, like every other biker in the world, you have some deep-seated emotional attachment to your motorcycle. To many of us, it’s a part of the family and to some even more cherished than the wife, if only because you can get a ride without that pretense of the headache or the bribe of [...]

I’d love to give this a try, but perhaps not yet.

The Uno
Saw it recently at the Toronto bike show, albeit as a none-working prototype. To me, it looked like it pitched you way too far forward to feel comfortable – both physically and mentally when moving at speed.
Maybe I’ll wait for an actual video before I sign up for a test ride.

Welcome to the family

April 25th, 2008 No Comments

I’d like to announce the addition of a new member of my family. I just put a shiny white Tiger into my garage, just to balance things out – That’s two KTMs and two Triumphs now. The Daytona has been my main bike for two years but touring around Nova Scotia last year gave me [...]

April 15th, 2008 No Comments

Here’s a scenario for you: You meet someone, maybe at a party or are simply introduced by a friend. You sort of dance around with the small talk and eventually get to the point where you say you ride a motorcycle. How many of you hear the reply that they know someone, usually a personal [...]

Fun with the insurance companies

April 10th, 2008 No Comments

I suspect this will come as a surprise to no-one but I really dislike insurance. That’s not to say I don’t want it: If I were in an accident or had my beloved Daytona stolen, I’m sure they’d be one of the first people I called and once they paid up, i’d be singing their [...]

Buying a new bike

April 3rd, 2008 No Comments

Why is it so hard to buy a bike? Actually, let me rephrase that and ask why is it so hard to decide which bike to buy?
I’ll take a step back. For some time now, I’ve been thinking about adding a general purpose, all-round, everything to everyman (and woman) type bike to my garage. [...]
