1934 Brough Superior 8/75 SS100

The 1934 Brough Superior 8/75 SS100 has an air-cooled, OHV, 50° JAP twin, 996cc engine. It has an estimated dry weight of 200 kg (440 lbs) and a top speed of 177 km/h (110 mph). The motorcycle has a claimed power of 74hp @ 6,200rpm and a fuel capacity of 18 litres (4.8 gal). Way back in 1934 the Brough Superior sold for £180 ($907 USD) which at the time was a large sum of money.

The Brough Superior is a highly sought after bike, selling for exorbitantly high prices at auction. Some of the aution results were:

• In April 2008, Bonhams at the Stafford Motorcycle show sold a 1934 model for £166,500 ($250,000 USD).
• In October 2010 a 1929 model was sold at the Haynes International Motor Museum for £286,000 ($430,000 USD).
• In October 2012 a 1926 model sold for £280,800 ($422,000 USD) in London at RM Auctions.
