EatSleepRIDE Calls for Proposals for New Mini-Doc Film Series

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Sync RIDE documentary film series

Sync RIDE documentary film series

Who are motorcycle riders? Why do they ride? Is it therapy, or an addiction? Is there some personality trait that all riders hold in common, or do their motivations simply spring from a primal human desire for freedom, independence and power?

EatSleepRIDE is searching for talented filmmakers and video artists who love motorcycles. The Sync RIDE™ short documentary series will see the creation of seven "micro-documentaries" that each celebrate the richness and diversity of the motorcycle community.

The Sync RIDE™ film series will feature an incredible ride for each day of the week. From Monday to Sunday, we’ll experience seven days of riding with some of the most fascinating and inspirational riders: entrepreneurs, poets, actors, trouble-makers and soldiers, all on their favorite bikes touring their favorite roads on the planet. Released monthly, each short-film will move us to go ride and give us greater insight to the passion, the experience and inspiration of motorcycles.

Each episode is both a road-story and a short bio. The story will also be translated into an interactive “Story Map” with video, text and photos so that others can experience the same ride.

EatSleepRIDE is inviting filmmakers and artists with a passion for motorcycles to apply to participate. All films must be shot between July and October 2016 and will be released on digital platforms on a monthly basis beginning this fall.

HOW TO APPLY

Prospective filmmakers should submit a one-page treatment, a CV, a portfolio and a proposed budget to: marija@eatsleepride.com.

We encourage interested individuals to contact us in advance of the submission date to discuss project ideas.

Format: Short video documentary

Running Time: Approximately 2 to 5 minutes

Budget: Each filmmaker will receive up to $5,000 USD ($6,500 CAD) which must cover all expenses including production, post-production, equipment, travel, transportation, music and meals.

Each micro-documentary must include:

  • One unique and compelling character / documentary subject
  • One motorcycle
  • One amazing route – preferably the subject’s favorite road

The deadline for proposals is June 13th, 2016.
