Riders Needed To Test ESR App on Android!

Testers Wanted! ESR App for Android

In the past, if you've expressed interest in an Android version of the ESR App and CrashLight® we're at the point where we need you.

ESR App is the most advanced and comprehensive mobile App available for motorcycle riders.

What is CrashLight®?

The ESR App premium feature is called CrashLight®. The feature automatically detects a motorcycle accident and notifies pre-set contacts of the rider's last known geo-location by voice, SMS text messaging and email.

Due to Android demand, we're excited to announce a test harness is ready for CrashLight on Android! The challenge for Android - which is greater than for iPhone - is testing and developing critical technologies for a large variety of Android devices and operating systems. That's where you come in.

Here's a Behind the Scenes look at Discovery Channel's testing of CrashLight for iOS http://eatsleepride.com/c/19492

What's a test harness?

We need your help to use the the test harness to record normal motorcycle riding. A test harness is a scaled back version of the App; without graphics or full functionality. It allows testers to record their ride and collect normal riding data. Once a ride is recorded, the rider can share the data with the development team so we can understand how the Android device translates normal riding.

What's do I have to do?

To participate, all you have to do is download the free ESR App test harness on to your Android phone. When you go for a motorcycle ride, launch the App and record your ride. Stop recording when you finish your ride and send the data to the development team with one tap. Just let us know if anything strange happened on your ride like emergency stops, swerves or other. That's it!

What's in it for me?

You'll be contributing to building a high-quality, low-cost technology that could save another motorcyclist's life. You could help bring home a mommy or a daddy, an uncle, a second cousin - you get the idea. You will be contributing to getting help to a rider immediately in the event of a motorcycle crash.

For iOS, we were grateful to have 50 riders in 10 countries participate. Their contribution led to a next to perfect execution of CrashLight with only 1 false detect collected to-date.

Each participant will receive a free early final release of CrashLight® for Android. If you'r nice, we'll likely send you a t-shirt and some decals as well.

Getting Started

All you need to do is reply to let me know you want to help. Please mention your device model and what operating system you're running. Simply message me or send a note to feedback@EatSleepRIDE.com

You'll be invited to a Google Hangout that will give you access to our early Alpha via the Google Play store. You'll install the test harness on your device, turn it on when you go riding and send us the data when you're done. From that, we will build device profiles for "normal" riding and employe that info to implement the full CrashLight Android algorithms.

Your participation, as well as all your data, will be kept confidential.

If you have any more questions before committing, please message me to let me know or email me at feedback@EatSleepRIDE.com
