Texas Hill Country Ride – From Kerrville to Leakey Via Hwy 16 and FM 1050

The tight curves, elevation changes and great scenery along Hwy 16 and FM 1050 make this motorcycle route one of the best rides in Texas. The ride starts in Kerrville, a city nestled in the hills of Texas Hill Country, and goes southbound along TX-16 and FM 1050 to the city of Leaky.

Texas Route 16 can be considered as one of Texas’ best back roads, due to its very tight turns and the breathtaking scenery it offers; around 12 miles after Kerrville, the road gets even more challenging as it goes up and over the Medina Mountain.

When you get to Bandera, continue onto Ranch Road 470 westbound towards Utopia. From Utopia, take FM 1050—one of Texas Hill Country’s best kept secrets—and head west towards Leakey for a nice ride with lots of twisties.
