Some Vincent, Harley, Indian, Rickman and Honda Vintage Bikes I Love

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Here's some of the bikes I spotted at the International Motorcycle Supershow:

Custom Vincent Motorcycle

Custom Vincent Motorcycle

Premiered at the Motorcycle Supershow was a custom Vincent. This bike is owned by Bar Hodgson the founder of the January show 30+ years ago. Bar is an international level collector of vintage bikes and Vincent motorcycles. Bar has an extensive collection of ‘as found’, restored and racing versions of Vincents. This custom Vincent might not be to everyone’s taste and would certainly not be easy to ride. However, Bar has ridden every Vincent he owns. So expect to see this radical bike on the road at some point in 2015!

Another of the very early bikes that were displayed at the IWM show. This is one of the early Harleys. Just as many of the early Indians were not red, most of the early Harley Davidsons were not black.

A very early Indian restored and on display at the IWM 2015 bike show. If you are a fan of Indians you will appreciate that some of the earliest Indians were not always red in colour.

Rickman Metisse Motorcycle

Rickman Metisse Motorcycle

A very nice original Rickman Metisse. While the Rickman Brothers did sell some complete bikes, they were best known for the ‘kits’ they sold. Rickman sold you a kit that you would purchase to build a café racer style bike or motocrosser. You then built your ‘dream’ bike using an existing engine and depending on the level of the kit (from just a frame and bodywork to kits with everything except a motor) then assembled the bike. The bike shown here would be the kit sold for the Kawasaki KZ900 engine. Rickman were located in England but had dealers in both Canada and the US.

1975 Honda MTR125

1975 Honda MTR125

Here's one of the original Honda racing two strokes. This is a 1975 Honda MTR125 that came from the RSC (the Honda racing group before HRC was formed). It is a 125cc air cooled piston port road racer. This one is original except for the cylinder head and is owned by Richard Cribbs of Barrie. At one time in the late 1970s, there would be 20-25 of these bikes on a RACE road race grid at Shannonville. Lots of the parts came from the “parts bin” as they call it. Parts from other models that were given a new part number and called a “racing” part.
