Looking to buy a Yamaha R1M? Start booking for next year

Yamaha just announced that as of March 31st, there is not a Yamaha YZF-R1M to be had anywhere in Europe. The R1M was available on through Yamaha's online registration system, ensuring that no-one at least had to line up at the dealership.

It's not a surprise there are none left.

The R1M is essentially the same as the R1, but with active Ohlins suspension. carbon fairings and an M1-derived, very sophisticated electronics package, it promises to unlock the potential of any rider. It even comes with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) in the tail section that measures how you are riding.

The good news is that the "base" R1 is starting to arrive at dealers. It's the same 199kg/ 201bhp bike as the R1M, albeit without the suspension, carbon bits, and the ability to see how you've been riding, but you'd better hurry as even they are selling out fast.
