2012 Phillip Island MotoGP FP3 Result: Stoner Destroys The Field

Casey Stoner continues to dominate at Phillip Island, lapping his home circuit at a pace no one else can match. The Repsol Honda man once again dropped his pace, lapping consistently in the 1'29s, and ending the day over a second quicker than any other man on track. Jorge Lorenzo found an important boost of speed, unable to match the pace of Stoner but gapping his main title rival Dani Pedrosa behind. The Monster Tech 3 Yamahas took 4th and 5th, Cal Crutchlow beating his temmate Andrea Doviziso by a quarter of a second. Alvaro Bautista took 6th, despite being hit by a seagull, a perennial problem at the Island.
