Well, I'm a rocky biker, hope can answer you properly. Traffic accidents in general are the second cause of death in young people in Chile, sadly, first cause of death for young people is suicide. Motorcycle accidents are a big concern, with144,000 bikes, there are something like 5,000 accidents and 120 casualties per year, high rates for such a small universe of bikes.We have new regulations for motorcycle license, but our country's laws are mostly punitive, so it's all about self responsibility, if you do cause privet property damage or injures to other people will face punitive consequences, next year licenses will be issued according experience, at the beginning you will be only allowed to ride small engine motorcycles, limited by c.c. (Cylinder Volume) I think your graduated system is a great method, anything that makes you be a prudent rider in order to have a clean history and get graduated for the next level it's positive. For me, the greatest challenges in daily rides are traffic and yourself, it's too easy to accelerate and move faster than cars, yeah, green light ---> acceleration ---> empty lane ---> wonderful, but, then anything out of control like another car into your lane, a pedestrian, anything like that will take you right to the ground. So, for me as a rocky biker, all is about caution, be prudent, concentration, get away from potential danger (like other bikers, buses, trucks) all that traffic usually never see you coming. (Specially other bikers haha)

@cpereirab

Hi

I am curious:  what are the licencing procedures in Chile for a motorcycle?  In Ontario there is a "graduated" system which restricts new riders from using highways, carrying passengers or riding after dark for a period of time.  It doesn't restrict horsepower like the British system does - which I think is a good idea

what are the accident and fatalities like? I'm working on an article on bike safety since there seemed to be a rise in fatalities in Ontario - well, in Toronto, which most people in Toronto consider to be the ONLY part of Ontario, or Canada (except Vancouver or Montreal, MAYBE).  But I am a little off track..

What are the daily riding challenges you face?  and where do you go riding to "get away from it all"?

Thanks and cheers!

yeah, @Slyck255 great bike until now, a cheap alternative for starters (like me) who are looking for an easy to ride machine!
