Husqvarna Baja 650cc - From Concept To Production

Husqvarna has been "unveiing" their concept Baja 650cc street bike since January 2012. At EICMA today in Milan there was a yet another unveiing, but this time of a nearer production ready motorcycle. Still no news when the Husqvarna Baja will hit production, especially with recent announcements of layoffs at Husqvarna Sweden.

While many wait and drool, here's the deets: the Husqvarna Baja is a 70's inspired design with a 650cc single-cylinder, liquid cooled, 4-stroke engine with five-speed wide range transmission meaning you won't have to changes gears much. The bike will have electronic fuel-injection, with brembo disc brakes. The wheels measure 19-inch in the front, 17-inch in the rear with intermediate-knobby tires. There's an innovative LED crossbar instrument display and a seat height that's meant to suit a wide range of riders.
