The Vespa 946

MILAN, Italy - With the Vespa 946, Piaggio manages to distill decades of its stylish aesthetic into a scooter that gets an estimated 129mpg, has an all-LED lighting systems and features ABS and traction control.

There are a couple other details that matter, such as the four-position preload adjustable rear shock that's mounted horizontally to avoid cluttering the lines of the 946's rear end.

It also features Vespa's classic monocoque frame, now built from steel and aluminum components to cut weight and increase fuel efficiency.

The press release from Italy includes a ton of other details and lots of flowery language, but we felt it best to just show a bunch of pictures.
