Yamaha officially announced the launch of the YZF-R250

Details are scant right now, but Yamaha has announced the availability of the YZF-R250. The design is clearly intended to echo the R6, but details such as power /etc are all absent. Suffice to say, expect learner (and budget) friendly rather than racetrack specs.

The bike is to be made in India, clearly to reduce costs, but also as it's likely to be popular is such as market.

And for those of you thinking about North America, sorry. Looks to be Europe only at present.
