Fairy Meadows Road – One of the World's Most Dangerous Motorcycle Roads

Distance: 16.2 Km / 10.1 Mi Duration: 00:50:14

The spectacular Fairy Meadows Road in Pakistan is ranked the second deadliest highway in the world due to its ‘treacherous high altitude, unstable and narrow mountain roads. The ranking was based on the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) global status report of 2013 on road safety as well as other data sets.

This spectacular motorcycle road is 16.2 km of completely unmaintained gravel road with no guardrails—certainly not for the faint of heart! The journey starts at the Karakoram Highway and goes south towards the village of Tattu. The road gets so narrow at the end that it's only possible to complete the section from Tattu to Fairy Meadows National Park by bicycle or by foot.

The road serves as the launching point for trekkers summiting on the Rakhiot face of the Nanga Parbat, the world's ninth tallest mountain at 8,126 metres above sea level. Fairy Meadows National Park is a breathtakingly beautiful grassland surrounded by thick alpine forest and it's a great spot for nature lovers. Blind corners at 2,000 ft elevation! Seriously I don't think you'd get Ewan and Charlie doing it.
