BMW F 650 GS (2012) - Yellow

GS way up north

This is the first new vehicle I've ever owned. Bought it new this year, and proceeded to put 15,000km on it over sixty days, chronicling my trip through Northern Ontario at www.OntarioRoadTrip.ca.While riding with Glen Roberts of Motorcycle Mojo, he said that he'd test driven the bike and found it to be excessively buzz-ey, while my good buddy and moto-journalist Dustin Woods said it was one of the most fun bikes he's ever ridden. I'd have to say I fall somewhere between the two. This bike goes everywhere happily, and is light enough to allow any mistakes to be quickly fixed. But it's underpowered (prolly shoulda got the 800 - but they were out of stock and I needed to get moving) and, well, much like you might tell a first love that you have to break up with...I think I need to try other bikes before I settle down...

The only modification I did was upgrade to the BMW touring seat for $500 clams. Best money I ever spent. But I didn't even buy saddle bags!

The fact that you pulled off 15,000km in 60 days with a nearly stock bike is a truly admirable achievement! I'm sure @alex will be happy to hear me say this, but you should take the Tiger Explorer out for a spin, the thing's an awesome ride and great value for money
