Good decisions inside larger bad ones.

Cortland, Oh, United States

Check out the crash at 2 minutes into this FailArmy compilation. A terrible decision to ride in the rain is partially redeemed by the rider maneuvering to protect his passenger as they slide along the road.

@zyonsdream I try not to ride in rain, but don't shy away from it if I have to.  Though I'm fairly lucky with where I live and work (about a 4Km ride each way).
I saw this video when it came out and was impressed with the rider's presence of mind to try to pull the passenger away from the bike and shield them from any potential on-coming impact.  I actually watch quite a few motorcycle crash videos from time to time to help 'research' what can happen in the hope to avoid it.

@zyonsdream @agent3012 The hydroplaning shot is my worst nightmare although I have to admit it kind of looks almost fun here.

@zyonsdream as for deer, did you read this crashlog about meeting a wall full of fur https://eatsleepride.com/c/119342

Ride safe gents.

Interesting video. The deer jumping in front of the bicycle is my worst nightmare as a motorcyclist. Over half my riding is at night and I live off the Delaware river so deer are always a constant concern. I do however question your comment about riding in the rain as a terrible decision. I ride rain or shine and I've never had an issue with hydro planing. I think the bigger issue is that many people are afraid of hazardous conditions and when they get stuck and forced to ride in them they fail. My advice is always to ride in poor conditions...rain, slag, wet leaves, high wind, ice while closer to home so you can get used to riding in these conditions and when you get caught in these conditions while away from comfortable roads you'll be better equipped.
