Nikka, My first love on two wheels

Nikka was my first love.

On two wheels she gave me a freedom unlike anything I'd known prior.

In four short years she took me from a RE class motorcyclist and served me well, despite my gaining an unrestricted R class licence 12 months after her purchase.

The CB400 Super Four is the perfect LAMs bike - for anyone with a bit of maturity. It's comfortable enough to ride long distances with my regularly doing 400km days. The tank was large enough to easily make a day of it, with fuel economy making everything affordable.

I averaged 4.8L/100Km across around 38,000Km tracked, with my best efficiency reaching 3.4L/100Km. For an everyday bike, that's so capable, that's got to be hard to beat.

When I traded her in her odometer read 39,638Km.

I still miss her.

One day I'd love the opportunity to get another and convert it into a cafe' racer, but for now, Alita (Street Triple R) fills the hole in my heart Nikka left.
