Motorcycle Supershow 2013 - Entertainment, education and good deals

Officially known as the North American International Motorcycle Supershow, this three day event takes place every January in one of Greater Toronto Area's largest show facilities, the International Centre by the Pearson airport. The Supershow isn't a part of the new motorbike show circuit nor is it a traditional vendor show, rather an amalgamation of both and then some.

Taking up over 425,000 square feet of display space with over 500 exhibitors along with another 100 clubs, rides and rallies, the 2013 Motorcycle Supershow easily keeps attendees occupied and engaged.

The Supershow is a bit of an enigma in the world of motorcycle shows with everything from new bikes to used bikes on sale to good deals on gear and accessories to vintage bike displays to a custom bike buildoff to even live bands and fashion shows being under one roof.

Custom Show Bike Showdown

A biker build-off of sorts, the 'Canada Cup Championship Custom Show Bike competition' features builders from all over the country showcasing customized motorcycles varying from mildly modified to complete ground up builds.

Picking a favourite is a tall order, but here are a few that caught my eye.

Retro Motorcycles

As much as I appreciate and respect the custom bikes on display at the show, nothing tugged at heart strings more for me than some of the vintage machines. Some of these are mighty rare and expensive, like a 1951 Egli Vincent named the ‟Black Panther”, others like a fully rusted out 80's Yamaha XV was just plain interesting.

You're right @alex; the Supershow is definitely a different animal from the regular show circuit (i.e. the one in Calgary.) The Supershow is a lot larger and carries a bit of everything, which gives it a different focus from the Motorcycle Show circuit that focus primarily on OEM.

I meant to add, when compared with the Calgary show that @jordan-sandra covered, it does seem meagre.

While I do like the vintage stuff, it the Supershow usually disappoints me. And I'd have to say it disappoints the exhibitors - Just look at the picture of the Harley stand - deserted.

That vintage Harley is a thing of beauty.
