Hey Marina! No, Palomar is further south, closer to San Diego. This is where the Mt Wilson Observatory is, however. The road is fantastic up to Mt Waterman (LA's best ski area, when it's open). It gets a little rough past that, but still very well maintained. It gets chip-coated yearly, it seems, so there's lots of friction through the corners. It does eat up tires quickly, though!

This looks like an awesome road. What's the pavement like all the way to Wrightwood? Is this where the famous Palomar Observatory is located?
