Auto-Start Ride Tracking is Now in Beta for iOS!

The new AUTO-START Ride Record feature is now available in beta for iOS.

When the ESR app is running in the background or foreground, it will auto start the ride recording.

Now you don't need to take off your gloves to start the ride recording or miss recording an awesome ride and CrashLight® is monitoring your ride for crash signals.

The feature is working well, however we're currently seeing a higher than normal battery drain. We are working on a fix!

Check the ESR app Settings>Auto Start Ride Recording and if you're seeing a battery drain, turn Auto Start to OFF.

As always, send bugs or weird sightings to feedback@EatSleepRIDE.com

Enjoy the ride!

@Mattgsxr1000

This should explain what is going on with your auto tracking concerns.

@AppEatSleepRIDE  I might have to hit up @Alex about that.  I'm not one for getting a knee down, but am keen to help test out any new features.

@NotHisRealName @VRSCDX @zyonsdream We're about to realease a new version for iOS with big improvements to auto-start.

Auto-start will automatically start recording the ride for you. If you stop for lunch and pause the ride, then get started again, ESR will auto-resume where you left off. Just monitor the battery drain for now.

Hey @NotHisRealName lean angle progress is moving along. We're on the verge of releasing a new Android version very shortly but lean angle won't be in it yet. You're going to have to yell at Alex for that one 😉

Right after that release is out, we'll be working on including a better, more reliable lean angle. Are you game for doing some testing on lean? If so, ping @Alex directly and he'll set you up.

@zyonsdream as far as I know, auto record is actually auto un-pause, not start. You still have to start your ride record, but when you pause at a stop, it will restart the record if you don't on pause. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.........

Hi @zyonsdream Yes, if you are driving in your car, the ride will automatically be recorded.

When you downloaded the latest iOS version there would have been a request to turn Auto-Start ON. When asked, if you said 'NO' your rides will not be automatically recorded. Mange Auto-Start ride recording in Settings>Auto-Start (it's the first item in Settings list). Thanks for your support man!

If the app is open and I get into my cage and start driving what keeps the app from recording? I've gotten in the habit of turning the app on and hitting record right before I put my gloves on. I'll keep the auto record turned off?
