Hi David.

The main reason I'm gonna track bike the K1300 is that I'm six ft six tall and weigh 19st, and I look ridiculous on a small Japaneses 1000cc type bike!!

As you know the suspension is that ESA electronic system on mine.

Would that have to be removed to put a more conventional set up in??

I've already braided hoses, K & N filters, GPR exhaust and a few other bits.

Was thinking a Power Commander V to sort the fueling too.

It will eventually become a full track bike, but use it to commute and do track days as well at the mo.

@James20009 Hi James - I used to race and do a lot of track days,  but not with the K13s. That's going to be a handful on the track. Are you planning on turning it into a dedicated track bike or just use it occasionally on the track but also ride it on the street? That will determine e a lot of what you will need to do.

To be best on track you really need to focus on tires and suspension. Going wit a set of slicks and a right, race suspension are key to performance and safety. I raised the rear on mine to promote quicker turn-off and adding a new link to accomplish that would be a definitely  for the track.

The bike is heavy and I don't think there is a lot to do about that. If you go full dedicated track bike you can strip all of the lighting off. May want to raise the pegs for better ground clearance in the turns as well. Brakes will be fine as a start but could be upgraded if you really get into it.

Let me know what you decide. The K13s is a bullet and will destroy many on the straights but getting her to turn quickly will be the challenge!

Hi. I've owned a K1300s for two years now and have decided to turn it into a track bike. Not sure if that's a good idea or not yet. So, I'm messaging everyone on here who's got or had a K1300s to see if you've any advice, info, know of any sites or forums that can guide me on my journey. Need help on what to purchase for it and any other help and knowledge you may have. Thanks - James.
