According to this article on the movie's motorcycle, Prince's ride for the movie Purple Rain was a customized 1981 Honda Hondamatic. There seems to be some disagreement around the exact model, but I believe it's a Honda CM400A with a Windjammer Vetter Fairing.
Three bikes (2 were stuntbikes) were made for the movie, two of which are on display at Prince's Paisley Park Studios.
