restaurant/cafe 94 Ossington Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The invite read "Ride fast, free and highly caffeinated". Hard to say 'no' to that. With very little pre-hype, last Thursday eve, June 16, 2016, Harley-Davidson Canada threw open the doors to a new pop-up corporate café dubbed "1903 | A Harley-Davidson Café" (96 Ossington Avenue) in the moto-friendly Ossington strip of Toronto just north of Queen Street.

1903 will be open until the end of September.

The 1903 pop-up is part café, part show case, part culture and meeting place that goes deep. The space is more than 4000-square-feet of moto-love. On entering the space you can't help be feel you're in the ultimate bike garage. Andrew Gayle, Senior Director at The Mint Agency worked with Harley's PR agency Weber Shandwick put the decor together quite nicely.

As you enter the space, there's coffee, bikes and nostalgia to make you feel at home. Go deeper and you'll be drawn in by the Harley roar as bikers and non-bikers test ride a Sportster on the ride simulator, which allows riders to run a bike, shift hears while remaining stationary.

Deeper still is The Shed, where wrenching events, are intended.

“Ossington is the heart of the urban riding scene in Toronto and we wanted to bring Harley to the riders,” says Jo Figueiredo, Marketing Director.

It's nice to see good ideas from Harley. The 1903 is a welcome meeting space for the urban riding community to relax and meet up over motorcycles and coffee with out having to join a HOG.

If you go, ride around to the back where there's ample, but little known parking.

The place looks awesome, and a shame it's only open for a short time.

Not a fan of their coffee though, at least not for espresso (which is all I drink). It may work in a latte, but not on it's own. Too bitter.
