Day 8 down

Stowe, United States

Today we traveled south out of Maine so we could tackle route 112, which is the Kancamagus Hwy in New Hampshire. This is a 45 mile mountain pass somewhat similar to the Cherohala skyway but not quite as cool or as high. Let's call it a mini Chero. After the mountain pass we moved north into Vermont. We decided to stay in Stow for the night and take in the Ben & Jerry's tour. It's a quick one with free ice cream at the end. We ended the day with 271 miles and 6:39 in the saddle.

I used to think that Kancamagus Hwy was the bees knees until I moved to NC and tasted some of the mountain roads. We just did the Diamondback - NC 226a will the Loud Pipes crew and it was awesome! Rico has done it several times and now so have I (thanks to Apple maps...)
