Fishing Day 3

Sheridan, United States

621 miles today. The morning was cool. After a relaxing breakfast and witty repartee we hit the road. Rode the first 150 with @tageod739 and met his wife for the first time... While she was inseminating a horse- yeah, she's a Vet. Spent time with them and enjoyed a few waking hours out of the saddle. It was time to get back to it so I said goodbye and headed out. The heat was bad yesterday and I had to stop more than I would have liked but today I was ready. I have a camelbak in my saddle bag and keep Gatorade mixed with water in it; drank over 2 gallons today. As the elevation increased the temperature dropped off and I had to smile- until the cross winds hit, hard. Riding the I90 through SD and WY at the legal speed limit of 80mph with a 35+mph cross wind is challenging. It was enjoyable until I rode through some unknown stuff- or maybe too much air came sideways to my helmet, but my eyes started to burn and water and my nose started to run- this felt less like allergies and more like chemically induced. The cooler air invigorated me and I felt compelled to ride on. After the sunset I got a chance to follow a truck, drive through the middle of a raccoon family (amazing hitting none), get wet, and stop for the night. It's raining now and I'm praying for a dry day tomorrow.
