Fishing Day 4

Missoula, United States

Thinking I needed to be in Bozeman today I rode hard and made it. I was a day early. I started out in despair having seen the forecast and radar where I was headed. As I packed up my bike I couldn't find the rain sock for my carburetor. This was seriously worrisome. I emptied the saddle bag, I looked on the ground, I looked where I thought it might have blown from the wind if it fell on the ground. Nothing. I donned my rain pants- it was a cold morning and it was better to be ready. While riding I kept wondering how far i would get with my exposed air filter bolted to the carb. The rain clouds darkened and I stopped for fuel and to put on my rain jacket and boot covers. As I put the left one on I saw the rain sock. Velcro had stuck it in a hidden spot and their similar color kept me searching for something that had been there all along. What joy! I now plunged into the storm cell with thanksgiving. The rain wasn't that bad and soon enough I had reached Bozeman. I called my contact and was informed I was a day early. I had read the calendar incorrectly. No matter, I knew a few guys out here. While I waited I ate. This small hardware/gas station/ restaurant had good food and friendly people. Even though there was no where left to sit a guy named Tucker invited me to sit with him and his son. We made small talk. Larry responded to my text and I rode out to his house. What a blessing. For the small effort of traveling his way Larry treated me like a king. Thanks for buying me dinner and letting me crash at your place Larry! We'd ride together if I didn't need to be back in Bozeman Tue. Not this year I guess.

Better views were out there but none I would stop for
