Honda CB 750

Honda Cb - Black and Silver Toronto, Ontario, Canada

I suspect this is a Honda CB 750 but at 1340 km who knows. The CB750 was the first modern four-cylinder machine from a mainstream manufacturer and the first motorcycle to be called a "superbike".

For the history nerds, there was also a CB750A otherwise known as the Hondamatic with automatic transmission. Although the 2-speed transmission included a torque converter typical of an automatic transmission, the transmission did not automatically change gears for the rider. Each gear was selected by a foot-controlled hydraulic valve/selector similar to a manual transmission motorcycle. The foot selector controlled the application of high pressure oil to a single clutch pack, causing the selected clutch to engage. The gear remained engaged until changed by the rider, or the kickstand was lowered which shifted the transmission to neutral. Smart. More about the CB750 on Wikipedia.

Never knew there was the auto version. Weird. I'm in the final stages of finishing a 74' CB550 four rebuild, just needs to be painted and I need to remove the rear fender. I'll post it when it's done, hopefully this week or next. Awesome post, did do the modifications yourself?
