There are many great roads just over an hour's drive north of Montreal. This route is perfect for a day trip and includes some varied terrain over both country highway and narrow lakeside pass. All of it is paved and in good to excellent condition.

From St-Adolphe-d'Howard, you can also travel around the lake at the centre of the town and head up to Ste-Agathe-des-Montes (one of the settings in Mordecai Richler's book The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz) and then take the four-lane 117 highway to Mont Tremblant which is a pretty ski resort town.

Highly recommended: For some quick eats the little road-side burger joint called Le Snack Shack near Weir at the intersection of 364 and 327. For a nice sit-down meal, Au Petit Poucet in Val-David is not far from Ste-Agathe and they serve an open-sandwich heart attack with fries to die for.
