Motorcycle touring New Zealand

It is May 2013 with our Winter months just weeks away in the Southern hemisphere. Early snow has already fallen covering down to our Southern Alps foothills, with the occasional frost on the Canterbury plains as you northern hemisphere folk look forward to a long & hopefully warm summer. I trust your bike maintenance is up to date for your summer riding season.

This is the period where we catch up with our past summer seasons repairs & maintenance in preperation for our next summer touring season, getting ready to ride New Zealand's least traveled sealed & unsealed back-country roads.

New Zealand's riding season starts (stable weather patterns) in late October and runs through into late April. Spring and Autumn are the most picturesque periods to tour New Zealand's South Island, Snow capped mountains, maybe still a wee bit crisp on some mornings, but followed by glorious days.

You can extend your summer by taking a break from your winter and organising a trip with a small group of friends down to NZ and enjoy our stunning winding scenic roads. I gives me great pleasure to show our international visitors South Island's many natural attractions, hidden gems and friendly people.
