Racing - the French way

We love racing here at EatSleepRIDE and this is just one way to love it even more. It's racing, direct from France (via YouTube)

The bikes look (and sound) like 50cc mopeds, and possibly with front wheel drive. That certainly doesn't stop them being fun, with the riders demonstrating an excellent range of riding techniques to get the most out of these miniscule machines.

You have to love the impromptu beer can exhaust. Using Old Speckled Hen shows the rider is clearly a man of taste. The amount of smoke pouring out also demonstrates this is probably two stroke territory. That or nearly dead four strokes.

Getting off the grid is particulary frantic. Being mopeds, there's very little horsepower on offer. Imagine if Pedrosa had to push start his bike? Or if Lorenzo needed to pedal between corners to keep speed up. It might just be the secret ingredient MotoGP needs to revive falling viewership.

It's doubtful anyone took away a large purse from this event, or even a trophy. What you can say is that these guys almost certainly had a blast and they probably used just a single jerry-can of gas between them for it.
