Moose Jaw and Aging Wives, Saskatchewan

Distance: 242.3 Km / 150.9 Mi Duration: 02:37:43

This great Saskatchewan route starts in Moose Jaw, taking you out of town via Hwy 2 towards 15 Wing AF Base, where you might catch the Snowbird jets doing aerobatics. Photo by http://www.ec.gc.ca

From Hwy 363 head south toward Gravelbourg, keeping on 363 through the farmlands. Soon comes the wet/dry/saline Lake of Old Wives. Powering on, you eventually turn at Route 58 to Gravelbourg. It’s a fine old rural day-ride, none too challenging, but easy on big sky and the eye. Photo by http://www.imgrum.net

Where to stop

Get off Hwy 2 for a look at Old Wives Lake, though there ain’t a ton to see. Just south is Mossbank, where you can recharge bike and stomach. Mostly you’re in for a day of prairie big sky and amber waves of grain. Beats an office cubicle any day, though.
