TPS sensor I think?

while reinstalling my air box and gas tank after changing a thermostat on my 02 Yamaha R1 I went to wipe a piece of debris from the butterfly on my far right throttle body and it opened it some since then my bike has not ran the same. is it the TPS? any input will help. no my bike seems to just spit and sputter at about 2500 RPMs and then it seems to be fine when the RPMs are above that. it's so frustrating I can't understand service manual so I'm thinking about just taking it to a mechanic and paying them to do it because I don't even know what to do. but I definitely know that something's out of sync..
