Long Distance Comfort: NoNoise Ear Plugs

United States

NoNoise Motorsport Ear Plugs Review

After a 1,700 mile extended weekend ride in all kinds of conditions, both my wife and I appreciated the NoNoise Earplugs. They work well, as long as you install them right, and are surprisingly comfortable.

Positives:

  • When installed right, they do their job impressively well, cutting down wind/helmet noise down to almost nothing.
  • Allow you to have conversations with people while sitting on the bike with the engine running and the helmet on, so the channel works as advertised
  • Fit fairly comfortably, much better than foam plugs or earbuds
  • When installed right, will not get pulled out (and dropped) when you take off your helmet

Negatives:

  • Pricey, but you realize they are worth every penny after 5hrs of riding at 80mph into 35mph swirling winds
  • Not very comfortable when not properly installed, so you need to fiddle with them at times
  • Not very effective in blocking noise when not installed properly, so you need to fiddle with them at times

I recommend them as a solid upgrade over foam plugs.

Rule of thumb: If you can still hear wind noise but it is muffed 35% or so, you didn’t do it right. If it is down 90%+, you did it correctly.
