Modern motorcycle stunt riding can be traced back to Brit Gary Rothwell who, in the 1990s, was basically responsible for the current love affair with wheelies, stoppies and burnouts.

Now stunt riding is evolving into a competitive sport, led by the XDL Championship series. In this video, competitive riders talk about the developing sport. The XDL Championship series is a top stunt riding championship that attracts competitors from the U.S., Asia and Europe. Starting out in 2006 with 3 events, in 2012 XDL ran a 5-event schedule. No events have been listed for 2013.
