Scott quick release straps for MX goggles

Minden Hills, Canada

When you're off-roading, you need a decent pair of goggles. However, I've never been a big fan of the normal style. I'm somewhat clumsy and tend to snap the elastic so that the goggles smack my face. I also tend to drop them when I take them off.

The other day, I chanced across a Scott quick release system and snatched it up immediately.

It's pretty simple in practice. The strap on the goggles is replaced by a two part system that ends in Velcro, one part on each side. On the helmet, you stick two Velcro pads. You then attach the Velcro on each part of the strap to the helmet. All that can go wrong is your goggles are upside-down...

Goggles are easily released, even with gloves, by pulling the stud on one side. On mine, it's the left as a pivoting stud allows the goggles to hang free without dropping them.

The only real downside is the placement of the Velcro. The hooks (hard part of the Velcro) is on the helmet, which means it snags the straps on my other goggles when I switch back. It's a small price to pay however and I doubt I will switch back now.

Fit when the goggles are in use is just the same as the normal strap.

Velcro placement aside, I can't fault this and have to say it's made me love my goggles again
