So, here we will discuss various advantages and disadvantages of lightweight motorbikes.

Lightweight Motorcycle (Kawasaki)

Lightweight Motorcycle (Kawasaki)

WHY LIGHTWEIGHT BIKES ARE DIFFERENT?

The main characteristic of lightweight bikes is the engines of those are normally highly powerful. Normally, those bikes are manufactured with very powerful engines. This is the main advantage of light weight motorbikes. And as they are light in weight, one can easily accelerate them and get high speed with them. You can race with other heavy motorbikes with a lightweight bike with ease, may it be in any road such as jungles or sand etc. You can handle any situation with those bikes. And these bikes are very easy to control.

PERFECT FOR RACING:

You will get so many advantages if you are gonna race with these bikes. You will be able to cover any gap just using the throttle. You don't have to apply any extra technique which you might have to apply in any other bike. Even you don't have to change your bike's gear while overtaking other vehicles.

THERE ARE POSSIBILITIES OF THEFT:

A major problem of lightweight bikes are, these can easily be stolen. Because, as these bikes are too much speedy and light in weight, it will be very tough job to chase any thief if he grabs the bike and tries to get away. And these bikes need many security arrangements for them if you keep them in any unsafe place. Because, it is very easy to carry them and get away with it, because they are very light in weight.

THEY DON'T PROVIDE SAME PERFORMANCE IN ALL SITUATIONS:

Normally high configuration but light weight motorbikes are not available in Bangladesh. The bikes which are available in abroad have higher horsepower. The tires of those bikes are capable to handle immense speed. They can hold their stability in even very high temperature. But these bikes are vulnerable in winter and rainy conditions. Because these bikes can slip if the road is wet in rainy season and create trouble for you. So, in winter and rainy season, light weight bikes become unfit for riding.

COST:

One of the main disadvantage of light weight bikes is they are very costly. The fuel consumption of these bikes are too damn high. The tires are suggested to change in every 2000 km. Besides, all parts of these bikes are not available in all areas.

LIGHT BUT NOT TRULY FOR RACING:

You can win any race with light weight bikes. But actually these bikes are not racing bikes. These don't provide the same controlling and comfort as an racing motorbike. These bikes are not perfect for anybody. Specially, short people are not that capable of riding this because of their height as these bikes are tall.

DIFFERENCES OF CONTROL AND ACCELERATION:

If you think about controlling, it is your greatest master of that. Because these bikes are tough to control, so if you ride these then you will definitely figure out any way to control it finely and when you will go on to ride any control friendly bike then that will be very easy for you to control.

The opposite matter goes with the acceleration, Light bikes are perfect for speeding, where the heavy bikes are not. So, you don't have to struggle even a bit to accelerate these bikes, but when you will go on to ride heavier bikes you will have to struggle to accelerate those.

LIGHTWEIGHT BIKES ARE NOT FOR COMMON BIKERS:

If you are not an expert motor bike rider and you have chosen the lightweight bikes for riding, then it will be a great mistake. Because, you can fall in trouble because of the tough controlling and might have to face accident. So, lightweight bikes are not perfect for amateur bikers.
