MV Agusta updates the Brutale Dragster 800 RR at EICMA 2017

Milano, Lombardia, Italy

MV Agusta updated the 2018 version of its over-the-top street naked, the Dragster 800 RR. The bike has received a host of new changes to improve on the existing machine. There are many styling changes, like a new tail section with a new tail lamp, and new livery that is more flashy.

A timeless design that is edgy and classy at the same time.

The new Brutale is Euro-IV compliant, making it less noisy and more efficient and while the engine displaces the same 798cc with not much change in output, the new refinements will make this a more enjoyable experience, for those who can afford it. There is also the claim of a new gearbox designed to reduce the lever effort needed for shifts. A new engine mount point is said to have increased the rigidity, while changes to the ECU and 8 stage traction control are promising a more refined power-delivery and electronics intervention.

A lot of attention has been paid to make the bike look more dashing than it already was. The single sided swing arm leaves the wire spoked wheels to be admired by onlookers while the machined bits and pieces look exceptionally detailed. MV was scarce on details and mostly focused on the new colours, grey with fluorescent yellow and white with a mix of grey and fluorescent red. With this refresh, will the bike get the attention it deserves, or will it drown in the pool of brand new machines coming up?
