Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic Canadian Edition (2008) Ottawa, Canada

It was an interesting personal adventure! The front cylinder exhaust valve cover had both bolts loose. Adjustments for all 4 valves were needed with all being too wide. Syncing carbs found, at the start, a front cylinder with 90% and the rear at 10%. They were easily adjusted to an even 50% matched level for both. Overall, it was a great learning experience.

I have been asking around to see who needs to adjust valve's at all, friends have said if the engine is running rough then measure and perhaps adjust them but if it ain't broke don't fix it. are there certain makes or models where the valves need a fairly constant adjustment?
