New vehicle check is free

Quick heads up to anyone buying a used car, motorbike, lorry or van. A firm known as CarVeto are offering free background history checks. Seems all you need is a registration number and reside in the UK to get your check. 

From what I can see the free check includes

• Import and export records
• Vehicle information
• Road fund licence data and expiry
• MOT history
• askMID car insurance status

They have this platinum service to know as Veto Platinum for £12.50. With some research, I've found the info on the platinum is almost identical to hpi check, who are the market leaders in the UK. But, the report looks pretty different. 

So the CarVeto claim is they block our decision to buy a vehicle until it has passed their database checks, then they lift the Veto. Pretty interesting but I guess the can't tell if the engine is about to blow up or there is rust on the underside?

Still, it's a cool site and a lot cheaper than hpi who charge £9.99 for a basic check (excludes car finance checks!) and £19.99 for a standard check. At £12.50, CarVeto should be the best choice. Get a free CarVeto and take a look. Think you'll like it.
