Mysore to Chennai

October 2017, a friend bought a Royal Enfield, Himalayan and was eager to go on a long ride. At that time my family was in Mysore (500 KMS from Chennai where we stay) and I thought this could be our long ride.
I could meet my family for that weekend and my friend would be able to do his first long ride on the Himalayan.
So off we went, I on my Royal Enfield classic 350 and my friends Himalayan and it took almost 8 hours with breaks to reach Mysore via Bangalore.
A good couple of days was spent going around mysore watching the sights.
We didn't want to return via the same roads on our ride back and took an alternative route we saw on the maps through some lesser known route via villages and forest.
Nevertheless this was the best decision we made. the return ride took us around 8.5 hours with breaks. A great mishap free ride this one was!
