The first annual Motorcycle Film Festival (MFF) starts this Wednesday, September 25th and runs through Saturday, September 28th, 2013. If you're in NYC or Brooklyn, it's worth checking out. How It Works

There's not one theatre for screenings, rather films will be screened in local Brooklyn bars and restaurants. Yes, not only can you get your fill of motorcycle culture this weekend, you can do it over a pint and a pickled egg at the cinema. Get your MFF tickets here

Jack Drury and Corinna Mantlo founded the MFF in 2013 with a group of motorcyclists and independent filmmakers from New York. The idea was to provide motorcycle and film enthusiasts a space to share experiences, discuss and enjoy cinematographic pieces of art. They quickly realized the MFF was the only feature film festival dedicated to motorcycle culture.

Jury members for the MFF are a collection of aficionados, erudite addicts and artists from the world of motorcycles. Awards will be given for Best Short Film, Best Feature Documentary Film, Best Feature Narrative Film, People's Choice, and Best Of Fest.

Wednesday, Sept 25th - MFF kicks off with a free event

The MFF opens with a free party and screening at Lady Jay's, 633 Grand St (between Leonard St & Manhattan Ave), in Williamsburg - North Side, Brooklyn, NY 11211

7:00 pm Meet & greet the film makers over Happy Hour drinks

8:00 pm - Screening of 'The Loveless' a 1982 feature film, staring Willem Dafoe, co-directed by Kathryn Bigelow (Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) and Monty Montgomery.

The Loveless is a loving montage of cars, bikes, leather and metal, tools and body parts. It's been called a re-take on the Wild One and is part homage to, and reinvention of, the biker genre.

Thursday, September 26th

6:30 pm - Location: Over The Eight at 594 Union Ave (between Richardson St & Frost St), Brooklyn, NY 11211

**Screening - ‟The Spare Parts Company”**is a short documentary about Roland Sotello, owner of a motorcycle shop Spare Parts Company in Philadelphia. The short is about his beginning as a college graduate working in the shop and how he ended up owning the business.

Screening - ‟Why we ride”, Directed by Bryan H. Carrol is a passion project that brings together a serious Hollywood crew to deliver this cinematographic and independently produced feature documentary about why we ride and who we are as individuals. It's a story about the destination, not the journey and the milestones motorcycle represent in our lives. It's not clear if this is the debut screening or not.

Friday, September 29th

Screening - ‟Black Kat” is a short documentary about Rick Monahan. He's dedicated his life to vintage BMW motorcycles and their restoration. At 55, he opened a garage in order to "pollinate Western L.A. with as many BMW's as possible." Watching his inspirational story on a big screen will be a treat. You can also download Monahan's book ‟Black Kat,” for free on iTunes.

Screening - ‟The Best Bar In America”, Directed by Damon Ristau and Eric Ristau is about a whiskey-fueled writing assignment that takes one man on an epic motorcycle road trip through the bars and taverns across the American West on a 1960 BMW R60/2 motorcycle with a sidecar.

Saturday September 28th

Brunch & Screening - ‟I Ride A Triumph”, directed and produced by Kadshah Nagibe. I don't know, do you get more respect on a Triumph? This mini-documentary tells the story of a Thruxon owner and people who ride Triumph motorcycles. Come early to get your brunch order in.

Screening - ‟The Salt Ghost: The Return of The Nitro Express” is a feature documentary directed and produced by Four Aces Cycle & Lowbrow Customs.

Two years in the making, this doc covers the exploration of a vintage Triumph motorcycle named the Nitro Express and its racer who spent two decades racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats and El Mirage. The story is about the bike, it's history, builder, and its return to the dry lakes.

Screening - ‟Loaded Gun Customs: Bucephalus Build” is a short documentary directed and produced by Loaded Gun Customs about a café racer build for the 2013 Michael Lichter display at Sturgis.

Screening - ‟Girl Meets Bike' is a low-budget feature film directed by Eric Tretbar about a young high school shop teacher who buys her first motorcycle, a Moto Guzzi, with her wedding dress money. She's lead away from her controlling fiancée into a new circle of motorcycle friends who are attracted but threatened by her newfound sexual freedom.

Screening - ‟White Knuckle: The Story of The Motorcycle Cannonball” is a feature documentary directed by Brian Darwas as he travels on the ultimate antique motorcycle endurance run called The Motorcycle Cannonball. All pre-1916 motorcycles race coast to coast on single cylinder engines, some had no transmissions (just a belt and a tensioner). This is their story.
