Bell Helmets celebrates SBK at Laguna Seca with custom helmet

From Dealernews

Bell Helmets has big plans for the FIM Superbike World Championship round at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, introducing a commemorative Bell Star Carbon helmet for the event and offering custom-fit, digitally mapped Star Carbon helmets.

Bell launched a Laguna Seca commemorative helmet to mark the MogoGP race there in July. Now, designer Chris Wood of Airtrix has created another design, this time for the World Superbike round Sept 27-29. Wood's airbrushed design features the California state flag and the series logo.

Fans will be able to buy the limited-edition Bell Star Carbon commemorative helmet online and during the event. They will be on sale for $699.95 at the Mazda Raceway souvenir store.

Race fans who want something even more specialized can opt for a custom Star Carbon helmet designed specifically to their skull's characteristics. Twenty- five fans will have the chance to purchase one of the helmets. While at the track, the buyer will have their skull digitally mapped by a 3D imaging program, and the helmet will be formed to their exact specifications. The process is the same one used for Bell's sponsored pro racers.

The $1,100 price tag of the custom-fit Star Carbon includes Bell's VIP treatment during the Superbike World Championship weekend at Laguna Seca, and the company is already accepting pre-orders on their site.
