How to test a Street Glide - Ride the Catskills

I've got five days with a 2014 Street Glide coming up, so I figured what better way to put it to the test than a road trip?

I've never been down through the Catskills in New York, and it's that time of year when the weather is near-perfect and the scenery is approaching it's most spectacular. Reading up on the area, it seems to be popular with riders due to the quiet roads and great pavement. Sounds like the place to be to me.

It also gives me a chance to get some real distance on that Hog.

My first day will help me figure out just how good of a mile machine it is. I'll only be doing about 900km, but I'll be sticking to mostly backroads. Highway will be limited to getting across the border only, but it's this stretch I'm most excited by.

The route is through the Catskills preserve, which promises some beautiful scenery and a chance to end my day around Woodstock, NY.

After the highways and relatively straight parts of Western NY, this will be a great chance to open up the 'Glide and see how it handles.

After that, I think I'll ride around for a day and "discover" something before heading back North through the Adirondack State Park. If you've any recommendations for a "must see" route around there, please do let me know. Better yet, if you want to take me on a tour, especially if you have a recent Street Glide, I'd love to meet up and compare notes.
