You may have discovered this already, but I have found that it will take some time getting used to using TouchID. One tip I have for waking your phone up is to place your thumb on the button for just a moment before pressing it to wake it. This gives the reader enough time to get the passcode and unlock it as it wakes it, saving you from that brief pause afterwards.
