I'm from Ontario but have spent some time riding around Nova Scotia and discovered it has some of the best riding anywhere.  Unfortunately, your 500 route doesn't take advantage of it.  Rte 215/236 into Truro is a great run but the rest of your route is along 101/2/3.  Not a lot of fun when you have great alternatives.  Include Hwy 3 through Lunenburg and the south shore.  Add the Cape Sable Island loop or head across Hwy 8 by Kedji - awesome country!  And there are lots of options for the valley too.
