Royal Enfield Gets (Moto) Social In The 6ix

There were rumblings that Royal Enfield would roll into this month's Moto Social Toronto on their new 650 twins, so I made sure I was there on two, despite the steady all-day drizzle. And, of course, I brought my camera with me…

Just before I arrived, the Enfields, led by Scott from Old Vintage Cranks rumbled in front of the donut shop I was hanging at to get directions to Te Aro, site of the June Motosocial. Impressive, since they rode 50km through a monsoon to get here.

It's worth the ride from Acton.

At Te Aro, there was excitement over the bikes, though game 3 of the NBA Finals added to the energy.

As the sun set, we ducked over to Mexicados Burritos across the street and stayed to warm up…and take in the first quarter of the basketball game. The drizzle continued, making for some cool photo ops.

The rain finally let up giving us a window to hop on our bikes and go. My pal Georgette rode shotgun and got these surreal pics of the ride home.

This was just Day 1 of what Royal Enfield has in store to celebrate the launch of their new Twins – the Interceptor 650 and the new, revamped Continental GT. Stay tuned for pics of the VIP launch at the swanky new Broadview hotel.

For those itching to try one of these bikes, hop onto RE's Facebook events page https://www.facebook.com/events/319067772076018/ and RSVP.

They're inviting everyone to swing a leg over to see for themselves, taking over the entire town of Acton, ON to party this Saturday, June the 8th.

It'll totally be worth the ride to Acton!
