Hi Lisa, my guy taught me. The best thing to do if you're serious about it is to take a beginners course on a 125cc with a real instructor for the basics. Then you'll have a starting point to work from. I came across this link of Motorcycle courses in the Jackson New Jersey area http://esr.cc/mUR9vv
