A Monster Sized Mill

The iconic Ducati Monster 1200 gives the rider its thrills from this 1198cc engine. This bike has definitely passed through

my sights. It is special for many reasons but of unique interest is the water- cooled engine. It is not the only water-cooled Monster in existence, but emission regulations and engine size seem to be leading the departure from the air-cooled realm, at least for the larger displacement Monsters. As with anything there are opposers that claim a water-cooled Monster is won't scare anyone but having

a super-sized engine in a streetable bike appeals to enough users for the Monster outsell the Streetfighter 4 to 1.

If you like Monsters keep an eye out for the 2015 Ducati 800.

Not yet, - the Streetfighter is still on my list. Given the choice, I'd take the SF in the 848 EVO variety. As for the 1200, I've got no self esteem issues! ha-ha.

As for outselling the Streetfighter 4 to 1, I can only assume you've not ridden the street figther. While the Monster can be ridden all day, only a true masochist would ride the big super-motard for more than an hour or two. Luckily, that's all the fuel tank manages...

Sadly, air-cooled engines are pretty much a thing of the past. Even the venerable Boxer engine is partially water cooled.
