Share your ride location with friends and contacts - A new free feature for ESR App users
Sportbikes at Weirs Beach Laconia Bike Week '13
Have you ever wanted to share your motorcycle ride with friends and family while on the road?
This week we launched GEOBOX (Beta), a new free feature for riders using the ESR App.
When you record your ride using the ESR App, the GEOBOX feature, allows you to share your location on a map, in-realtime, with invited contacts. It takes the fear out of motorcycling for the loved ones.
Here's how you can try GEOBOX
Your designated contacts will receive an email with a URL that displays your location on a map.
- To add contacts to GEOBOX, you'll need to Log In to the website. Use the same username and password you use for the mobile app.
- Go to My Profile and click on Share my location

- Follow the steps to add a few riders to the list.

- Now click the Notify Contacts button to tell GEOBOX to send an email to your contacts with the specific URL.
Record Your Ride to enable tracking
You'll need to record your ride for your location to be shared. Equally, your device will need a GPS fix and access to a data network to share your location effectively.

Set your location visibility to Everyone or Group
Be sure to have your location set to Everyone or Only My Group to make yourself visible. Change your location to No one, to go invisible.
Cancel location sharing
To cancel location sharing, or to Revoke Access, click the revoke access button on the website or set your location to No one using the ESR App in Settings > Share my location

Shortly, we hope to build this feature into the ESR App, for now, setup is supported on the website, while visibility control remains within the app.

The best part of this? Next time I'm out on a big ride, I don't get 10 missed voicemails each more desperately asking "where are you? When will you be home?".Â
