2011 Silverstone MotoGP FP2 Results: Stoner Dominates On Drying Track

Casey Stoner's domination of the MotoGP class continues, the Repsol Honda rider topping the timesheets in difficult, drying conditions. The track started almost completely wet, but dried out as the session went on, the southern half of the track becoming almost completely dry, while the northern section remained fairly wet.

The strange conditions saw Stoner, Marco Simoncelli and Jorge Lorenzo swap the lead as times dropped, Stoner grabbing top spot on his last lap by eight tenths of a second from Simoncelli. Nicky Hayden swept into 3rd spot, six tenths behind Simonceli, whil Cal Crutchlow seized 4th ahead of Jorge Lorenzo.
