Lake Isabella, California is located on the southern shore of the Isabella Lake, North-East of Bakersfield. It's a small town of only 3,500 people and a great place for fishing, hiking, camping, windsurfing, skiing, or just relaxing. The Isabella Lake Fishing Derby is one of USA's largest golden trout derbies, usually at the end of March so it's not the best time to ride. The Silver City Ghost Town is an old west town - completely deserted, located at 3829 Lake Isabella Blvd. This is one of Lake Isabella`s most historic and popular attraction and worth checking out, it's often bustling with tourists and is used as a filming location for A&E, History Channel and Nissan shot a car commercial there. For more information on the area see: http://www.lakeisabella.net/

At the bottom you'll be out of the forest and in Springville, a small town of only 1000, where you'll find a gas station and maybe a restaurant. Avoid riding in October during the Springville Apple Festival which is visited by 30,000 tourists, featuring 200 booths selling various arts, crafts and food.
